The Pastoral Support Team works to effect a smooth transition to
the new pastorate
of Rev. Courtney Clayton Jenkins. Its members include Adrienne Brockway,
Mary Jane
Cariens, Eleanor Dees, John Merritt, Noreen Roderick, Charles Williams
and Dean Sieck,
chair.
The group meets with Pastor Jenkins every month or so. In these meetings
this
group’s members focus on heaping the pastor to understand how the
congregation is
responding to her leadership. Part of this process consists of sharing
with the pastor
what members have heard—positive and negative—about her work. Sometimes
the Team shares
thoughts and opinions that have been solicited from members of the
congregation. Other
times Team members share things that they have heard regarding the
pastor. All comments
are kept anonymous, and comments are never attributed to particular
individuals by name.
Other topics in the meeting may include group members’ thoughts about
plans that
the pastor has for events in the future or requests for advice from the
Team about
specific matters.
Please take note of the names of individuals on this Pastoral Support
Team. You
are invited/requested to share your joy and concerns with these
individuals about our
pastor and the direction of our church. Pastor Jenkins knows that she
works in our behalf
and sincerely wants to know how members of the congregation feel about
her performance. |
